May 2016 CADET NEUROGROOVE TEAM AWARD
The USAFA Class of 2016 NeuroGroove engineering team received one final honor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering award ceremony. The team was awarded the Brigadier General Alan R. Klayton Design Excellence Award which "highlights outstanding design techniques and execution as well as innovation and success in completing a complex electrical/computer system project."
MAY 2016 INITIAL MIKE WILCOX AWARD
FalconWorks has awarded the first "Dr. Mike Wilcox Innovation Award" to members of the USAFAA class of 2016. There were two winners- C1C Erica Lewandowski for outstanding project leadership and C1C Brian Yarbrough for computer technology innovation in this year's NeuroGroove project.
DR. MIKE WILCOX AWARD
Michael John Wilcox, 67, died Nov. 16, 2015, in Colorado Springs, CO. Dr. Wilcox was a biology professor for more than a decade at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Mike was the original president of FalconWorks, and his passion and ingenuity were instrumental in their successful development of many wonderful technologies for the disabled. An annual awrd in his honor has been established.
NEUMIMIC PATENT SUBMITTED
A Patent Application has been submitted to the USPTO for the NeuMimic therapy system, including the innovative brace. The system is available for commercialization and a full patent submission will be made as ideas are incorporated from on-going use of the system.
THERABALANCE PATENT AWARDED
The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) awarded the FalconWorks patent application for TheraBalance aka "Balance Therapy System" on September 10, 2013. This patent had been filed on April 12, 2010, so it was over three years in the process. Many thanks go to Dr. Tim Worrall and his team.
